The goal of the agenda is to improve overall care. AHA announced the agenda will focus on the following healthcare challenges in 2025:

The agenda includes goals specific to laboratories. AHA aims to “protect access to clinical laboratory services in hospital-based laboratories” and maintain the right of hospital and health system clinical laboratories to develop laboratory-developed tests (LDT), “to address unmet patient needs and improve existing diagnostic tests without imposing burdensome and unnecessary regulatory oversight.”
