FTI Consulting has published their 2025 U.S. Hospital Operations Survey Report. This is only the second year the company has conducted this survey.
Results show current obstacles hospitals are facing. Over 200 hospital leaders participated from March 3-12.
Key findings:
- 39% of leaders said their top focus is continuing to provide the best patient care.
- Several hospitals (30%) are experiencing longer patient stays, resulting in space issues, and 48% “of hospital executives believe that their hospitals are not fully equipped to handle current patient volumes.”
- 26% of administrators reported employee burnout and shortages in their hospitals as a challenge to clinical operations.
- The top financial burden reported was workforce management costs, according to the report.
- Half of respondents said looming cyberattacks were their top technological concern.
