October 2025: James H. Nichols, PhD, DABCC, FAACC, Professor of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology, Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry and Point-of-Care Testing, and Medical Director of Special Testing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, focuses on the causes and consequences of hemolysis and emphasizes the importance of proper phlebotomy practices and advanced analyzers in reducing errors and ensuring reliable lab results.

Buguis, DHSc, MSc, MBA, CTTS, MLS(ASCPi)cm, Laboratory Director at Winkler County Hospital District in Kermit, Texas discusses strategies for rural labs to implement technological upgrades, maintain equipment, and foster community partnerships to ensure quality diagnostics, expand services, and adapt to evolving healthcare needs despite resource limitations.
