Medical laboratory accreditor COLA has released a new video designed to inspire laboratorians to join the national conversation about laboratory quality. The video describes the importance of laboratory medicine in patient care, one of the key themes of COLA’s 2014 Leadership Summit, which will bring together leaders across healthcare disciplines to collaborate on the future of laboratory medicine nationwide. The summit will take place April 28-29, 2014. COLA leaders expect it to generate papers and other materials that reflect the group’s insights on the topic of creating a culture of quality in lab medicine.
The summit will focus on the importance of quality, what it means to laboratory professionals, and how to promote a continuous culture of excellence within the field. Thought leaders from a variety of disciplines, including legislators, regulators, physicians, public health leaders, hospitals, medical laboratories, allied healthcare professionals, payers, and others have been invited to share their diverse perspectives.
