NovoPath is offering a presentation at this week’s American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) conference on leveraging LIS (laboratory information system) technology to provide a competitive edge. NovoPath VP, Sales and Marketing, Rick Callahan is showcasing the NovoPath Anatomic Pathology (AP) LIS in helping labs to address the demands of today’s challenging patient care and business environments. He joins other event exhibitors in providing attendees with learning opportunities focusing on innovative methods of enhancing lab quality, productivity, and efficiency to promote profitability and better patient care.
“Today’s anatomic pathology environment requires all AP professionals to adapt to the ever changing conditions and test menu offerings,” says Callahan. “Labs must be more efficient and make the most of their resources.” Callahan points out that laboratories have been significantly challenged by diminished reimbursements for many frequently used Anatomic Pathology procedures, the systematic reduction in Medicare Part B Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedules, and more. Intelligent use of technology, he adds, can help lab personnel better use their time to fill in the gaps.
Recognizing this, NovoPath is demonstrating its Lean Process Improvement module designed to analyze existing data to help labs find new operational efficiencies in everyday workflows. Lean Process analysis identifies workflow bottlenecks and inefficiencies and helps eliminate extra or redundant steps, while benchmarking staff performance.
Also being demonstrated at ASCP 2013 is NovoOutreach, an electronic order entry and results viewing platform that integrates with a lab’s existing website to create a sophisticated web portal. The module will seamlessly deliver results in the format of the referring physician’s choice. Read more about NovoPath AP software solutions.
