Sysmex signs hematology contract with Department of Veterans Affairs

May 23, 2013

Sysmex America, Inc., has been awarded a five-year Cost Per Reportable Result (CPRR) Agreement with VA Midwest Health Care Network (VISN 23), a Veteran Integrated Service Network. Under this hematology standardization agreement, effective July 1, Sysmex will supply new state-of-the-art Sysmex XN-Series Automated Hematology Analyzers, training, and technical support and service to 12 VISN 23 medical facilities located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. While Sysmex America holds Veterans Administration hematology contracts and standardization agreements within 15 of the 21 VISNS, this agreement represents the first placement of the new XN-Series analyzers in the VA System.

VISN 23 offers veterans a range of healthcare services, including acute medical, surgical and psychiatric inpatient services as well as a full range of outpatient services via multiple full-service hospitals, community-based clinics, and veterans’ centers. The XN-Series analyzers perform complete blood counts (CBC), one of the most frequently ordered clinical laboratory tests. In addition, the advanced laser fluorescent flow technology provides additional information used by physicians throughout the continuum of patient care. The analyzers will help physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases that can impact an aging population, as well as help address network-wide cost and labor pressures.

“It is an honor to have been entrusted with this important role in serving the healthcare needs of our distinguished veterans,” says John Kershaw, President & CEO, Sysmex America, Inc. We look forward to serving VISN 23 and its affiliates.” Read a product overview of the Sysmex XN-Series Automated Hematology Analyzers.
