Upcoming CISA meetings to allow stakeholder engagement in CIRCIA rulemaking
Starting March 9, CISA will hold virtual town halls to gather stakeholder input on the CIRCIA cybersecurity incident reporting rules, emphasizing timely reporting of cyber events and ransom payments.
Beginning March 9, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will host multiple virtual town hall meetings regarding the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act of 2022 (CIRCIA) rulemaking, according to an announcement.
The meetings will allow stakeholders to share their insights on the rule. CIRCIA aims to better help those who have been impacted by cyber incidents by ensuring that covered organizations “report certain cyber incidents to CISA within 72 hours and ransom payments within 24 hours.”
There will be five meetings total over the next month, unless otherwise noted, with two additional general town hall meetings. The healthcare and public health sector will be able to comment at the March 17 meeting. More information can be found on the Federal Register.
