Minnesota-based Primera Technology is offering its Signature Slide printer. According to Primera representatives, the printer enables laboratory professionals to use a 300 dpi print resolution, printing directly on the slide and thus eliminating errors. The Signature Slide Printer also allows labs to brand slides using their logos and sharp text.
The printer utilizes the company’s TuffCoat 2 (TC2) chemical, temperature, and abrasion-resistant ribbons. The new ribbon formulations were developed to perform in pathology, histology, cytology, and other types of laboratory applications. Features include availability in black monochrome and CMYK; heat and chemical resistance; the ability to dry instantly and permanently; no need for heat, fans or IR light treatment; functionality with a wide variety of slides and brands; and lower heat and print head pressure, contributing to longer intervals between print head replacement.
