The federal government plans to make 25 million cloth masks more easily available to communities hard hit by the pandemic, reaching some of the nation’s most vulnerable populations, according to a news release from the White House.
The government will distribute the masks to 1,300 federally qualified community health centers and many of the nation’s 300 food banks, which reach a network of 60,000 food pantries, soup kitchens and other organizations.
The cloth masks will be available at no cost, beginning in March and into May.
