The Food and Drug Administration’s, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Office of Blood Research and Review has announced an upcoming roundtable to help develop strategies aimed at improving the blood manufacturing supply chain.

Specifically, the meeting will review current issues related to the supply chain for the collection and manufacturing of Whole Blood and blood components for transfusion and further manufacturing, including Source Plasma. Interested parties will have the opportunity to share insights during the open public comment session. 15 panelists will present over three sessions regarding current challenges, manufacturers’ perspectives, and what federal agencies can do to strengthen resilience.

The meeting will take place virtually on September 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
