U.S. News & World Report announces best maternity hospitals in 2026
U.S. News & World Report has released its 2026 rankings of the best hospitals for maternity care, highlighting top facilities based on complication rates and survey data, with California leading the list.
The organization scored hospitals based on the amount pregnancy and birth complications they deal with. They used the U.S. News Hospital Dashboard to survey hospitals. The goal of these rating are to help parents in their search for a quality hospital to care for them throughout their pregnancy and birth journey.
California had 80 hospitals that made the list, far more than any other state. Not all 50 U.S. states had hospitals on the list. Delaware, Rhode Island, and Vermont do not have any hospitals that ranked.
