Jan. 29, 2026

To fill a gap in clinical laboratory data analytics, the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) has introduced the Data Science in Laboratory Medicine Certificate Program.

The program aims to help clinical laboratory professionals and pathologists utilize data to address challenges. Enrollees will have the opportunity to work with local data analysts, “learn about core data science concepts,” and obtain tools to streamline lab workflows, minimize errors, and refine testing algorithms.

The program addresses topics such as common lab data challenges, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, ethics, and best practices.

This is the first program of its kind, according to ADLM.
