Oracle donates application to HHS to collect crowd-sourced COVID-19 data
April 22, 2020
Oracle donated to the Department of Health and Human Services a crowd-sourcing application that will allow the government to collect real-time data related to COVID-19, HHS announced.
Called the Therapeutic Learning System, the application is a secure web portal designed to gather crowd-sourced, real-time information from doctors and other clinicians about how patients are responding to possible therapeutics to treat COVID-19. Patients also can self-report data.
The data will not be owned by Oracle or any other private entity, HHS said.
The portal is designed to deliver instantaneous analysis about treatments, providing analytics based on types of patients, age brackets, underlying health conditions, and symptoms.
