Brining responsible AI to genetics and genomics: ASHG’s new initiative

The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) has announced their intent to bring responsible and effective artificial intelligence (AI) to the human genetics and genomics field.

The first action the organization has taken toward this goal is officially launching the ASHG AI Initiative. The initiative will partner experts together to develop guidelines for the ethical use of AI in the field. The framework will derive from discussions that will happen at ASHG’s new AI summit and virtual symposium.
