The American Hospital Association (AHA) reported on recent Center for Outbreak Response Intervention findings, stating that the U.S. has had more measles cases this year than in over three decades.
As of July 1st, there have been 1,267 confirmed cases of measles, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 92% of measles patients are unvaccinated or don’t know their vaccination status. Medical Laboratory Observer (MLO) recently shared a study that found a significant decline in measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccines in children from 2019-2024. The authors warned that measles could become endemic again if vaccination continues to decline.
