In a recent press release, Cedars-Sinai specialists share their insights on how to best get ready for the upcoming flu season. Guidance includes vaccination recommendations, as well as treatment options for flu patients.

When it comes to flu season preparation, Cedars-Sinai suggests:

  • Getting vaccinated between September and November, especially if you are older
  • Regularly washing your hands
  • Distancing yourself from sick patients
  • Wearing a mask when you feel ill
  • If you have the flu, get plenty of rest, stay hydrated, and take Tylenol
  • If you are at higher risk for serious disease, contact your health provider when you have suspected flu
  • Contacting your health provider if symptoms are not manageable
  • Children can be treated in a similar way to adults, without aspirin
