At-home cervical cancer testing

May 14, 2025

Teal Health’s Teal Wand was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The test allows women to self-test for cervical cancer at home.

According to Teal Health’s announcement, Teal Wand is “the first and only at-home vaginal sample self-collection device for cervical cancer screening in the United States.” The test can be acquired by prescription starting in June. Once available, patients aged 25-65 of normal risk can order the device at getteal.com.

Additionally, “Teal Health’s FDA approval was supported by their SELF-CERV study.” Findings showed the Teal Wand to be 96% accurate. The majority of participants prefer to screen for cervical cancer at home.
