Viroclinics Biosciences, a virology contract research organization, has acquired DDL Diagnostic Laboratory, a molecular diagnostic solutions provider, according to a press release.
The organizations serve leading biopharmaceutical companies in the field of microbial vaccines and anti-virals. Viroclinics, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, specializes in influenza and other viral targets, such as RSV and Polio, while DDL Diagnostic Laboratory, of Rijswijk, Netherlands, focuses on the fields of Hepatitis and HPV.
The combined company will employ 240 specialized scientists, researchers, technicians and support staff, and operate from four testing laboratories located in Europe and China, with access to a global network of processing facilities across 20 countries to coordinate sample collection in for global clinical trials.
