Mount Sinai Medical Center named Comprehensive Stroke Center by DNV

Mount Sinai Medical Center has received the prestigious Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from DNV, highlighting its capacity to manage complex stroke cases with advanced therapies and expert multidisciplinary teams.

Mount Sinai Medical Center has been awarded Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification by DNV for the stroke program at its Harvey R. Chaplin Family Stroke & Chest Pain Center, according to an announcement.

Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification is the highest tier of stroke care recognition available, signaling that an institution has the personnel, infrastructure, protocols, and clinical outcomes required to manage the most complex stroke cases, including those requiring advanced neurointerventional procedures, around the clock.

DNV's Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification is built on standards from the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association and affirms that a medical center delivers the full spectrum of stroke care, from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and education, with clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.

Mount Sinai Medical Center's stroke program operates from The Harvey R. Chaplin Family Stroke and Chest Pain Center and is supported by a multidisciplinary team of vascular neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-interventional radiologists, neuro-critical care specialists, emergency medicine physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and dedicated nursing staff. The program offers advanced therapies including intravenous thrombolytic treatment, mechanical thrombectomy, and complex cerebrovascular interventions.
