CMS has started collecting private payor rate data via the CLFS Module, requiring laboratories to submit their information by July 31, with detailed guidance and FAQs available to assist compliance.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has begun collecting private payor rate data through its Fee-for-Service Data Collection System Clinical Lab Fee Schedule (CLFS) Module. Laboratories must gather their data and complete submissions by July 31. CMS has created a guide for hospital outreach laboratories to determine their applicable status. An FAQ on the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA) reporting is also available, as well as an FAQ on the CLFS.  An 18-page booklet with information on determining laboratory status and reporting scenarios is also available.
