FDA’s Dr. Michelle Tarver to deliver keynote speech at AAMI neXus 2026

Dr. Michelle Tarver, FDA CDRH Director, will deliver the keynote at AAMI neXus 2026, focusing on how regulations and standards intersect to enhance patient safety, with additional FDA leaders attending.

The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) announced that U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) Director, Dr. Michelle Tarver, will be a keynote speaker at their upcoming AAMI neXus 2026 conference.

The conference will be held April 14-17 in Leesburg, VA. Dr. Tarver will speak about “The Intersecting Roles of Regulations and Standards in Ensuring Patient Safety” on Friday, April 17, 2026.

AAMI noted that additional FDA leadership will be in attendance. The meeting will highlight topics such as “shaping regulatory-ready standards, sterilization innovation, IEC 60601 updates, and emerging risks in AI and data integrity.”
