Rutgers partners with New Jersey facility to expand maternal health

Rutgers announced a partnership with the first Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Center in New Jersey in a release. The goal of the new facility is to expand access to maternal and infant care.
The Rutgers School of Nursing has agreed to “lead the center's work in academic training, research and workforce development in partnership with Mercer County Community College, Stockton University, The College of New Jersey and Thomas Edison State University.” Rutgers will be the education anchor, overseen by nurse-midwifery program director, Julie Blumenfeld.
Construction of the new facility began on July 22. Services that will be provided at the center will include healthcare, social work and resources, and workforce development.
