Medicare enrollees could see lower costs on 64 prescription drugs

Dec. 23, 2024
Part of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Some Medicare Part B enrollees could save money on 64 prescription drugs, according to an announcement from The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Patients will have a lower copay for those medications from January 1, 2025 – March 31, 2025, “since drug companies raised prices for each of these 64 drugs faster than the rate of inflation.”

These enrollees could save between $1-10,818 a day during this time, according to HHS’s announcement.
