Techcyte and Aignostics collaborate to automate tissue microarray workflow

The collaboration combines Techcyte's Fusion AP with Aignostics' HETA AI platform and 3DHISTECH's TMA Grand Master, allowing researchers to digitally mark, confirm, and automate tissue core extraction for research purposes.

Techcyte and Aignostics are collaborating to combine the Techcyte Fusion AP, using Aignostics’ AI-powered H&E spatial profiling product (“HETA”), with the 3DHISTECH TMA Grand Master into a single automated research workflow, according to an announcement.

This connection would enable researchers to automatically core and place confirmed regions of interest from a digital slide image into a recipient block or PCR tube for DNA extraction. The first phase of development, moving DICOM images and ROI annotations from Fusion AP to the Grand Master, was presented at Pathology Visions 2026.

With this integration, a pathologist or researcher would digitally mark and confirm coring regions of interest on the whole-slide image of the donor block in Fusion AP. Those regions would be exported as DICOM annotations alongside the DICOM image and retrieved by TMA Control, the Grand Master’s software. TMA Control would then overlay the annotated slide on its image of the donor block, core at the confirmed sites, and record every core against its slide and block. Cores could go into recipient blocks for a tissue microarray or into tubes for DNA extraction. The hand-off would use the same DICOM path Fusion AP already uses for scanner images and AI results.

Techcyte Fusion AP and Aignostics products are for Research Use Only in the United States and are not for use in diagnostic procedures.
