Dec. 18, 2020

Cerner Corporation announced an agreement to acquire Kantar Health, a division of Kantar Group, for $375 million in cash, subject to adjustment, according to a press release.

Kantar Health is a data analytics and research consultancy specializing in the life science industry, according to a press release.

With this acquisition, Cerner said it plans to "harness data to improve the safety, efficiency and efficacy of clinical research across life sciences, pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry at large."

The company also said it expected the acquisition to enable a two-sided collaboration between providers and the pharmaceutical industry, so researchers can generate insights and use real-world data and expertise to address clinical research questions.

Cerner said it expects the deal to close in the first half of 2021, subject to regulatory approval, employee consultations and other conditions, and is not expected to have a material impact on Cerner’s earnings in 2021.
