Calibration verification and linearity
The Beta-Hydroxybutyric Acid Linearity (No. K728M-5), five levels, is a new addition to the company’s line of calibration verification/linearity products. It is intended to simulate human patient serum samples for the purpose of determining linearity, calibration verification, and verification of reportable range for Beta-Hydroxybutyric Acid. Packaged as 5 x 1 mL, this liquid product has a shelf life of two years and an open vial stability of seven days when stored at 2°C to 8°C.
Portable ergonomic design
The portable Pipet-Aid XL, designed ergonomically to reduce shoulder and neck strain, has a longer handle to lower the amount of arm lift required to manipulate the pipette tip. It includes an adjustable hand rest and integrated stand where the unit can be set down without concern of contaminating the pipette. It features quieter operation and extends period between charges. The unit can be charged while being used. Three-speed settings provide more precise control for both aspirate and dispense modes.
Molecular standards
The G-Sphere® Molecular Standards are synthetic genes that provide safe, stable, consistent, and abundant controls for virtually any organism and any molecular assay. This custom product is supplied as 100 reaction vials that come with dilution buffer and instructions for use. In addition to custom orders, a growing list of G-Sphere® Molecular Standards have been developed for various parasites, including Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba, Plasmodium, Microsporidia, and other analytes of particular interest to public health laboratories. Phthisis products are developed and manufactured in the USA to ISO 13485 standards in a QSR and cGMP compliant facility and are designated as general purpose reagents.
Test for 11 pathogens simultaneously
The xTAG Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP) now has FDA clearance for sale in the U.S. It is a comprehensive molecular diagnostic assay that tests for <90% of bacterial, viral, and parasitic causes of infectious gastroenteritis in a single assay. It is a nucleic acid-based amplification assay that simultaneously tests for 11 pathogens and is capable of delivering multiple results within five hours. The panel includes: Campylobacter, Clostridium difficile Toxin A/B, Escherichia coli O157, Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) LT/ST, Shiga-like toxin producing E. coli (STEC) stx1/stx2, Salmonella, Shigella, Rotavirus A, Norovirus GI/GII, Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium.
Blood donation monitor
The TRANSWAAG PRO blood donation monitor provides thorough mixing, high precision and uniform volumes, and controlled donations. Many of the instrument’s settings are adjustable, allowing parameters to be programmed for site-specific requirements. Audible and visual alerts signal low blood flow and scale disturbances, and are combined with automatic tube clamping at the end of collection. The monitor weighs 2.4 kg, and a lightweight transport case is available that also doubles as a stand for mobile use. Li-ion battery operation enables approximately 100 donations, and donation data can be transferred via USB stick.
Large volume pipette
The macro volume Ovation pipette allows convenient aspiration from bottles, flasks, and tubes without the arm and hand elevations traditionally required with serological or volumetric pipettes. A broad menu of liquid handling functions provides rapid, precise, and accurate dispensing, up to 50 times in succession from a single aspiration, as well as mixing and serial diluting within a range of 100µL to 10mL. The calibration function allows adjustments to ensure optimum precision when using liquids of different viscosities and densities. An adapter is available for use with glass and plastic serological pipettes in lieu of tips, when that extra length is needed to reach the bottom of tall vessels.
