Bridge the gap between POC testing and EMR

The Orchard® Trellis™ is a management software program that serves as a “review, click, and go” cost-effective bridge for electronically passing orders and results between low-volume POC analyzers and an EMR. Whether POC testing is in a Protime clinic, a pediatrician’s office, a lipid clinic, or any other POC testing facility, Trellis is the solution designed to enable connectivity and electronically integrate POC results back into an EMR. It can be deployed in the most basic installation where a single Trellis is utilized as a bridge between the EMR and a few low-volume instruments or to a network of multiple POC testing locations linked to a centralized lab using Orchard Harvest LIS.

It handles all types of orders including labs, radiology, and cardiology and can be integrated via embedding, web-services, and/or HL7. Providers can supply pertinent order-related information through advanced ask-at-order-entry (AOE) question functionality. Orders can be electronically submitted into laboratory and radiology information systems. It features adaptive favorites lists for orderable tests and ICD-9/ICD-10 and instrument-ready bar code capability

Validation module

Sunquest Laboratory Clinical Validation™ is a new module introduced with Sunquest Laboratory™ version 7.0. Clinical Validation supports the review process for microbiology test results that require multi-level review or pathologist analysis. It automatically queues results for review based on rules, which effectively standardizes the complete review cycle and improves turnaround time. Actions such as release and redirect of individual accessions or batches are done with a single mouse click. Plus it  has the capability to add and pass electronic internal notes. A composite view of results can be seen by reviewers to support comprehensive interpretation and promote patient safety by consolidating information into a unified presentation.

Patient-centric paradigm

Patient Centric Repository and EMPI products have been developed to address the patient-centric paradigm. Most labs today operate in a transaction-based mode, and not in a patient-centric manner. This leads to workflow inefficiencies, redundant entries, and clinical and billing errors, in addition to other service- and business-related issues. ATLAS solutions enable labs to correctly identify patients, optimize workflow, store historical patient record views, and reconcile data elements across disparate systems (such as the LIS, EMR, billing, etc.). The Patient Centric Repository and EMPI may be used with ATLAS products, or to augment other outreach and connectivity solutions.
