The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System has partnered with ALZ-NET, providing nearly 500,000 veterans with enhanced access to Alzheimer’s care and enabling clinicians to utilize real-world data for better treatment decisions.
Nearly 500,000 U.S. military Veterans experiencing Alzheimer’s disease now have extended access to care, according to an announcement from the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Administration (VA) Health Care System. The organization is the first U.S. VA site to take part in the Alzheimer’s Network for Treatment and Diagnostics (ALZ-NET).
The collaboration will also give VA clinicians the opportunity to “contribute real-world data on how newly approved therapies perform in Veteran patients.” The ALZ-NET provides healthcare professionals and researchers with tools and data to aid in clinical decision making. This partnership will pave the way for additional VA sites to join the ALZ-NET, expanding Alzheimer’s care for veterans.
