Currently, there have been 64 confirmed cases among 22 U.S. states. Nobody has died, but there have been 20 hospitalizations so far. The CDC attributes the outbreak to raw oysters.

The CDC advises people to cook oysters to minimize the risk of getting sick. They emphasized that certain juices and sauces do not kill germs.
