CDC publishes childhood obesity prevention recommendations for families

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published a list of six recommendations for families to help prevent childhood obesity at home. The goal of this action is to protect children from complications of childhood obesity.

According to the CDC, families can:

  1. Promote a healthy diet at home
  2. Add more movement into the day
  3. Have a consistent, healthy sleeping schedule
  4. Lower screen time
  5. Enroll in childcare programs that promote heath
  6. Ask your healthcare providers about healthy weight programs
