New salmonella outbreak connected to some Metabolic Meals home delivery foods

Sept. 10, 2025

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted a warning regarding a new outbreak of salmonella.

Currently, there have been 16 confirmed cases among 10 U.S. states. Nobody has died, but there have been seven hospitalizations. The CDC attributes the outbreak to some of Metabolic Meals’ home delivery meals, which were taken off the menu during the week beginning on July 28, 2025. The exact source of the bacteria is still being inspected, but each patient reported eating those meals. The company has warned customers who purchased the specific meals of the salmonella risk.

The CDC advises people not to eat the contaminated meals until the source of the bacteria is confirmed. They determined the best course of action to be to throw away the contaminated meals. They also warn people to “wash items and surfaces that may have touched the affected ready-to-eat meals using hot soapy water or a dishwasher.”
