The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted a warning regarding a new outbreak of salmonella.
Currently, there have been 76 confirmed cases among seven U.S. states. Nobody has died, but there have been 21 hospitalizations. The CDC attributes the outbreak to certain August Egg Company recalled eggs. According to the recall alert, the contaminated eggs “were distributed in AZ, CA, IL, IN, NE, NM, NV, WA and WY.”
The CDC advises people to throw away or return the recalled eggs. They also warn people to “wash items and surfaces that may have touched the recalled eggs using hot soapy water or a dishwasher.”
