The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted a warning regarding a new outbreak of salmonella.

Currently, there have been 11 confirmed cases among seven U.S. states. Nobody has died, but there have been three hospitalizations. The CDC attributes the outbreak to Sam's Club’s Member's Mark Super Greens Powder Supplements. Particularly, the moringa leaf in them is causing the illnesses. According to the CDC, Sam’s Club has stopped selling these products.

Additionally, “a common supplier of moringa leaf powder was identified. As the investigation continues, additional products containing moringa leaf powder made by this importer may be added to the list of products to not eat, sell, or serve.”

The CDC advises people not to consume contaminated products. They determined the best course of action to be to throw away or return the powdered supplements containing moringa leaf. They also warn people to “wash items and surfaces that may have touched the supplements using hot soapy water or a dishwasher.”
