The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published a Health Alert Network (HAN) Health Advisory warning the public of a potential Ebola-related health threat.

The current Ebola outbreak in Uganda is caused by Sudan virus, according to CDC’s advisory. The agency provided guidance for U.S. public health departments and clinicians regarding best practices for safety and testing.

CDC says “currently, no suspected, probable, or confirmed Ebola cases related to this outbreak have been reported in the United States, or outside of Uganda.”

Currently, there is a “Travel Health Notice Level 2: Practice Enhanced Precautions for people traveling to Uganda,” issued by the CDC.
