CDC’s Respiratory Virus Activity Levels report.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Published updates to its Respiratory Virus Activity Levels report on January 24.

According to the website, at the national level:

·       “The amount of acute respiratory illness causing people to seek healthcare remains high.”

·       Confirmed influenza related emergency department visits are the highest nationally, followed by RSV, then COVID-19.

·       Positive flu tests jumped to 25% while COVID-19 and RSV stayed about the same (6.2% and 8.8%).

·       “Wastewater viral activity levels for influenza A are at high levels. National COVID-19 and RSV wastewater viral activity levels are moderate.”

·       COVID related emergency department visits over the next two weeks should remain lower than past winters, forecasting shows. Influenza-related visits are expected to heighten.
