All U.S. adults eligible for COVID-19 vaccine by May 1

March 15, 2021

All U.S. adults will be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by May 1, 2021, President Joe Biden announced.

To ensure that there are enough resources to vaccinate people, the government plans to increase the number of places offering vaccines and the number of professionals able to administer them.

The places where vaccines will be available include community health centers, pharmacies, community vaccination centers, and mobile units.

The expanded pool of qualified professionals able to administer the shots includes dentists, advanced and intermediate emergency medical technicians, midwives, optometrists, paramedics, physician assistants, podiatrists, respiratory therapists, and veterinarians, as well as medical students, nursing students, and other healthcare students in these professions.
