NCCN publishes personalized treatment guide for older adults with cancer

The NCCN has released a free, annually updated resource to assist healthcare providers in customizing cancer treatment plans for older adults, addressing unique health challenges and comorbidities.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has published a free resource to help providers personalize cancer care for older adults, according to an announcement.

While the tool is targeted toward older adults, younger patients can use it too. The NCCN Guidelines for Patients for Older Adults With Cancer include versions for both patients and clinicians and align with NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology. Recommendations included in the document cover patients with cognition issues, higher fall risk, and other memory and physical conditions.

The guidelines will be updated annually, according to NCCN.
