Penn Medicine announced the construction of a new cancer center to be located at Princeton Health. The Penn Medicine Princeton Cancer Center is currently on track to open in May 2028.

$401 million will be allocated to the development of the 200,000-square-foot center. An official groundbreaking ceremony will take place on October 20th.  The center will consist of:

  • A 6-story parking garage
  • An imaging center, including a separate center for breast cancer imaging
  • Over 40 exam rooms
  • 30 infusion chairs
  • Two linear accelerators for radiation therapy
  • Energy-saving methods

Patients who are seen at the center will receive personalized treatment. Penn Medicine’s physicians will have access to patients’ electronic medical records to enable compassionate care close to where the patient lives.

Kevin B. Mahoney, CEO of the University of Pennsylvania Health System said in a statement, “A cancer diagnosis disrupts routines and introduces a level of uncertainty that touches everything in a patient’s life. Across Penn Medicine, we continually work to ease that burden by improving access, convenience, and support throughout every step of treatment. The Penn Medicine Princeton Cancer Center will help us deliver cutting-edge research and clinical innovations to Central New Jersey, ensuring care that is close to home, carefully coordinated, and deeply compassionate.”
