Apple Health app users will soon have access to lab test ordering, Quest says
Quest Diagnostics introduces a new feature allowing Apple Health users across the U.S. to purchase and schedule comprehensive lab tests directly through their iPhone and iPad, enhancing preventive health management.
Quest Diagnostics announced that Apple Health app users across most of the United States will be able to conveniently purchase a tailored Quest laboratory test panel that includes over 50 biomarkers directly through the app on iPhone and iPad later this year.
The Quest laboratory panel is designed to deliver preventive health insights and includes biomarkers for assessing cardiometabolic health and organ function. The panel also includes biometric readings that measure blood pressure, height, weight, and waist and hip circumferences, which may provide additional insights into metabolic health.
Users can purchase and schedule their blood draw and biometric readings at one of Quest's approximately 2,000 patient service centers in the United States for $119.
Shortly after testing, lab results will appear within the Apple Health app. Quest collaborates with third-party providers to review and approve all test orders and, at the user's request, discuss test results and next steps for no additional charge.
