ESR is one of the most established and widely used laboratory tests in the world, however traditional testing methods, including Westergren and modified Westergren methods, are subject to environmental variables as well as sample integrity and workflow issues. Automated photometric rheology analyzers are not as subject to environmental variables, can provide sample stability for up to 28 hours at room temperature (vs. the 4 hours afforded by Westergren and modified Westergren), and address workflow and staffing shortages by reducing hands-on and turnaround time.
