CliniSys, which acquired HORIZON Lab Systems in early January, has now combined with Sunquest Information Systems.
HORIZON Lab Systems specializes in cloud-based laboratory solutions in environmental, water quality testing, public health, toxicology, and agriculture laboratory solutions. Horizon supports more than 80 laboratories in North America and employees 43 people. CliniSys, headquartered in the United Kingdom, markets a laboratory information system (LIS), anatomical pathology information system, order entry and result consultation, and public health solutions in disease surveillance and outbreak management.
Meanwhile, Sunquest, headquartered in Tucson, AZ, also markets an LIS. The company’s capabilities include multi-site, multi-disciplinary support for complex anatomic, molecular and genetic testing, and support for engagement with physicians and patients outside the hospitals at the point-of-care. Sunquest also provides solutions for public health organizations, in the form of disease surveillance and outbreak management.
Together, CliniSys, Sunquest and HORIZON Lab Systems employ more than 1,300 employees living in 12 different countries, representing 19 diverse cultures, and speaking 21 different languages.
"CliniSys is positioned to deliver the benefits of cloud transformation and apply new technologies such as advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning, to empower laboratory professionals with better diagnostic capabilities and tools to work more effectively and improve public health worldwide," the company said in a news release.
