ELISA reagent kits
Triturus reagent kits are infectious-disease and autoimmune-ELISA clinical laboratory tests for automated EIA analyzers and manual testing with innovations for ease of use. The kits are validation-ready on the Triturus EIA analyzer to streamline workflow. The reagent caps are color-coded for improved component recognition. A reagent container labeled for conjugate is included with the kit. For automating the kits on the Triturus EIA analyzer, simply pour the conjugate into the reagent container and load onto the instrument. This family of ELISA tests will expand as more serological markers become available.

Detect lupus anticoagulants
STA Staclot dRVV Screen and STA Staclot dRVV Confirm are fully automated assays for the detection of lupus anticoagulants (LA) in patient plasma by the diluted Russell’s viper-venom method. Each reagent is bar coded for ease of use on the STA line of analyzers. The STA Staclot dRVV Screen utilizes a reagent with a low phospholipid concentration which enhances its sensitivity, resulting in a prolongation of the clotting time. The STA Staclot dRVV Confirm utilizes a reagent with a high phospholipid concentration which neutralizes the LA present in the plasma, resulting in a shorter clotting time. The tests are not affected by contact factor deficiencies, factor VIII and IX deficiencies, or other specific inhibitors. The assay is not affected by samples containing therapeutic levels of heparin.

Pre-mixed optimized set of markers
The Solastra Five-Color Reagent Panel is a comprehensive panel of conjugated-antibody cocktails for the characterization of hematolymphoid neoplasia by flow cytometry. The pre-mixed and ready-to-use panels can be used as an aid in the investigation of patients with abnormal hematology in order to provide data critical in the diagnosis, staging, and prognosis of hematolymphoid neoplasia. Twenty-three markers are combined in seven tubes — two tubes in the B-cell lineage kit, two tubes in the T-cell lineage kit, and three tubes in the myelomonocytic lineage kit — each tube containing up to five relevant antibodies. Kits can be run individually or jointly, and the preparation procedure is designed to offer standardization, consistency, and simplicity.

MMRV reagent pack
The BioPlex 2200 MMRV IgG Kit for muliplexing measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella-zoster (MMRV) virus serological testing is for use on the company’s BioPlex 2200 system. The MMRV IgG kit provides simultaneous results for the four tests that are commonly ordered together to determine a patient’s susceptibility to MMRV. The BioPlex 2200 system is a fully-automated, random-access multiplex testing system and provides labs with the capability to rapidly process or multiplex groups of individual tests that are traditionally processed separately.

Assess lipoprotein(a) levels
Available as a liquid reagent, Randox Lp(a) provides results efficiently and
offers excellent stability and sensitivity. Lipoprotein(a) determination is essential in evaluating disorders of lipid metabolism and to assess coronary heart disease. The company has developed an immunoturbidimetric end-point method for the determination of Lp(a) on automated analyzers. A specific anti-Lp(a) antibody agglutinates with Lp(a) in the test sample due to an antigen-antibody reaction. This agglutination is detected as an absorbance change at 700 nm proportional to the concentration of Lp(a) in the sample.

Homocysteine reagent
The Homocysteine assay, with applications for most automated clinical chemistry analyzers, is a two-part liquid stable reagent that incorporates an enzyme cycling sequence. The product offers 18 month shelf-life, 30 day on-board stability, and extended calibration stability. Calibrator value is standardized to NIST SRM 1955, and the assay shows excellent correlation with immunoassay and HPLC methods. The reagent is compatible with both serum and EDTA plasma samples. A three-level, liquid-stable homocysteine control set is available to verify results.

Direct measure of TIBC
Direct TIBC offers a fully automated, direct measure of total iron-binding capacity (TIBC). This liquid-stable, ready-to-use reagent decreases turnaround time by as much as 15 minutes by eliminating cumbersome manual processes and increases accuracy of results by as much as 20% over UIBC+iron methodologies. For use on most chemistry analyzers, this assay has excellent correlation with alumina column, magnetic, and transferrin TIBC methodologies. It is unaffected by lipemia, bilirubinemia, hemolysis, and other interfering compounds.

C-reactive protein assay
The Piccolo MetLyte Plus CRP Reagent Disc, used with the Piccolo xpress chemistry analyzer, is intended to be used for the
in vitro quantitative determination of C-reactive protein, chloride, creatine kinase, creatinine, glucose, potassium, sodium, total carbon dioxide and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) in heparinized whole blood, heparinized plasma, or serum in a clinical laboratory setting. Users can conduct on-site chemistry analysis in less than 12 minutes for conditions such as infections, inflammatory diseases, tissue injury, and some neoplastic processes. CRP is widely used as an indicator of inflammation or infection, including rheumatoid arthritis, although the test has utility in the detection and treatment of other afflictions as well.
