Rapid diagnosis of UTIs

Uricult is an accurate and easy-to-perform bacterial culture method for the diagnosis of urinary-tract infections (UTIs). The dip-paddle culture system can be performed in-house and provides reliable results within 24 hours. The dip-paddle system is based on two culture media. One side of the plastic paddle is covered with green CLED media and the other with reddish EMB media for the detection of microbes causing UTIs. The CLED media is intended for determining the total microbial count. The EMB media is intended for detecting Gram-negative microbes. The kit includes 10 tests per box and can be stored at room temperature.

Respiratory syncytial virus test

The QuickVue RSV 10 lateral-flow immunoassay test for the qualitative detection of acute respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections detects RSV antigen viral fusion protein) directly from nasopharyngeal swab and nasopharyngeal aspirate/wash specimens from symptomatic pediatric patients under the age of six. This dipstick format test features a three-step procedure with just 30 seconds hands-on time and offers results in 10 minutes or less with easy to read and interpret two-color results. This test is designed with the identical test method and sample preparation of the QuickVue Influenza A+B test, allowing for the use of the same patient specimen when testing for influenza or an RSV infection. All components needed to perform 25 tests are contained in the kit, including nasopharyngeal swabs.

Rapid test for antibodies to HCV

OraQuick Hepatitis C (HCV) Rapid Antibody Test, for use in detecting HCV antibodies in venous whole blood specimens, is a rapid, point-of-care test that can identify previously undiagnosed HCV-infected individuals who are at risk for infection with HCV and people with signs or symptoms of hepatitis. OraQuick is a test strip and does not require an instrument for diagnosis. Results are available in about 20 minutes. HCV is transmitted through exposure to infected blood, which, for example, can occur during intravenous drug use. The virus can also be transferred from an infected mother to her child. Hepatitis C can lead to liver inflammation and dysfunction and, over time, to liver disease and liver cancer.

Test for RSV and MPV in one step

The D³ FastPointTM L-DFATM RSV/MPV identification kit identifies the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in less than 25 minutes. The kit uses the fluorescent labeling tech­nologies in combination with newly developed L-DFA processing technology, which allows for the identification of two respiratory viruses in a single slide well. This test provides the accuracy and quality of DFA direct specimen testing while confirming specimen adequacy by visualizing stained cells under the microscope to avoid false-negatives due to inadequate cell counts.
