EXECUTIVE WAR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATION

This award coincides with National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week and allows medical laboratories individuals to demonstrate their interest in learning. The winner will be featured in the April 2010 issue of Medical Laboratory Observer. Deadline for nominations/submissions is 12:01 AM on February 1, 2010. Individuals will be judged on measurable achievements in each of ten areas. A panel of judges selected from MLO's Editorial Advisory Board will review all submissions to select the winner. At the time of their notification, winning individual will be asked to submit photographs according to an electronic standards format.

Criteria

At least five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience in which clinical setting(s):


At least three (3) years of membership(s) in professional organization(s):


Service on in-house and out-of-house committees in the past three (3) years, including multidisciplinary committees within a healthcare facility, community events, clinical laboratory organization or healthcare accreditation surveys, compliance activies.


Continuing education participation in the past three (3) years, including advocacy/development of in-house continuing education program


Books read on laboratories and management in the past two (2) years


Contributions to teamwork in the organization, including inspiring integrity and professionalism, and what indicators show success has accrued departmentally or facility wide, including process-improvement activities


Initiatives undertaken to advance the clinical laboratory profession, including customer service and contribution to patient care


Why you want this scholarship and how the scholarship will help you contribute more to the profession, including why you want to join management, why you want to advance your laboratory career, and how you believe you can make a greater contribution to your organization by doing this: “Why should we give this award to you?”
